Welcome

Welcome to The Website of the
Mayfield and Easthouses Development Trust
(MAEDT)

"making it happen"

Mayfield and Easthouses Development Trust, is a charitable, community focussed organisation creating opportunities and improving facilities to regenerate the Mayfield and Easthouses Area

Mayfield and Easthouses, dating back to 1825 with semi-detached villas laid out by James Gillespie Graham, a political leader of the antislavery movement, is an area, like so many in Midlothian, with a proud history of Mining.  It boasts terrific surounding countryside, as well as fantastic panoramic views of the Pentlands and good connections to Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders via the A7 Tourist Route.  At MAEDT we are working with a network of Community Groups and Partners to make Mayfield and Easthouses and better place to live and work.

At MAEDT we are focussed on

  • Creating a community hub
  • Responding to the social, economic, environmental and cultural needs of the community
  • Working with Midlothian Council and other agencies and organisations for the benefit of Mayfield and Easthouses.
  • Consulting with the community and giving the community a voice.

We would love to hear from you.  If you would like to find out more about our work or have any ideas on how to develop the Mayfield and Easthouses Area please contact us at the MAEDT Centre.
