The Mayfield and Easthouses Community Chest Fund is now open to local voluntary community groups and organisations. For further information and an application, please click the files at the very bottom of this page.
We have spaces available at our Lunch Club should you or anyone you know be interested in coming along. All we require is that you are over 55 years old. Free transport available if you live in the Mayfield or Easthouses area (subject to availability). If you live outside the area you are still more than welcome to come along. Lunch costs £2.50 and this also includes tea/coffee and dessert or soup in the winter months. The Mayfield & Easthouses Christmas Lights Event will take place at Mayfield Leisure Centre on Sunday 6th December from 2pm. The Christmas lights will be turned on at 4.30pm beside Scotmid store.

The Mayfield & Easthouses Gala Day will take place on Saturday 6th June 2015, we will be there with our tombola, treasure hunt, putt putt and bowls. We will be at Mayfield Park from 12pm if you want to get ahead of the crowd for your chance to win some prizes.

25th Anniversary of the Mayfield & Easthouses Gala Day will take place on Saturday 7th June at Mayfield Park and opening the event will be Jesse Rae. The parade will be leaving from Easthouses at 1pm and finishing at Mayfield Park. Many of the local organisations and business will have stalls at the event. MAEDT will have a stall with games to win prizes (for prices please see posters on the day). We will also be promoting our latest projects as well as giving the public the opportunity to speak to us about other projects they would like to have in the area.

Beginning Thursday 20th March we will be running a Job Search Drop In 10am-12pm. If you require internet access to apply or look for jobs please feel free to come along. There is no charge to access the service and no need to make an appointment.
Our Job Club has changed to Tuesdays from 10.30am to 12.30pm, if you would like to come along please drop in, no appointments are required.
Beginning Wednesday 12th March The Citizens Advice Bureau will be holding sessions at the MAEDT Hub from 10am to 1pm.

We are looking for volunteers to help out at the MAEDT Lunch Club that we run for older isolated members of the community at the Mayfield Community Club every Friday. The Christmas Lights Event will take place at Mayfield Leisure Centre on Sunday 8th December and will begin at 2pm. Tickets for the the Christmas raffle are available at the MAEDT office (for further outlets please call the MAEDT office on 0131 663 5317) and will be drawn on the 8th December before the Christmas lights switch on.
We will be hosting our Annual General Meeting on Monday 25th November 6.30pm for 7pm at the MAEDT Hub with light refreshments, if you are a member of the Mayfield or Easthouses community and would like to come along please feel free. There are still places available if you would like to also become a member of our Board.
If you live in Mayfield or Easthouses and have any stories and/or drawings that you think should be included in the Big Wall Mural Project please download the attached form, fill it in and drop it in to the MAEDT office and we will pass it on to Chris Rutterford, Artist leading the project.
We are arranging a meeting with parents in the local community to discuss what activities they would like to include with our Baby & Toddler Group and possibly look at arranging outings for the group. If you have a child aged between 0 and 4 years old and would like to join the group, please come along to our meeting that will take place on Tuesday 22nd October at 10.30am in our office at 12 Bogwood Court, Mayfield.
The Mayfield & Easthouses Neighbourhood Plan group have arranged a meeting at 7pm on 22nd October with the artist leading the Big Wall project Christopher Rutterford, who would like members of the local community to come along and tell a few stories about Mayfield & Easthouses to give him ideas for what should be included in the mural.

We will be running a Job Club drop in from 10.30am to 12.30pm every Friday at our MAEDT office for anyone who requires assistance with c.v. building, I.T. skills, confidence building or job searches. Even if you only require internet access to e-mail a c.v. or want to look up job vacancies, please feel free to pop in. We also post vacancies up on our bulletin board at the office every Wednesday.
We are hosting a Job Club information day on Friday 6th September for anyone who would be interested in joining. If you would be interested the event will take place from 10am to 12pm at our office at 12 Bogwood Court
We will be providing our annual Summer Programme for children under 5 years old again this year. On Tuesday 30th July there will be soft play and a bouncy castle beginning at 10am and finishing at 12pm at Mayfield Leisure Centre.
On Wednesday 31st July there will be a session of Monkey Music for up to 20 children under 5 years old followed by face painting. If you are interested in bringing you child along please call us on 0131 663 5317 to book as places are limited.
We will soon be launching our Job Club that will provide members of the local community the necessary skills to become job ready, including cv building. We are now advertising local jobs on a weekly basis in our shop front window and further details are available in the office.
Mayfield Haiku is a series of fourteen poems and photographs of sculptural interventions created by local residents at Mayfield & Easthouses Development Trust. A limited edition book of the works, prefaced with an essay by poet Ken Cockburn, has been published to accompany an exhibition of the artworks in local shops and a rolling programme of billboard posters, displayed in Mayfield Square advertising hoardings 29th October 2012 – 10th February 2013.
Friday 21st September, Mayfield & Easthouses Development Trust Lunch Club
We are proud to announce the launch of our Lunch Club on Friday 21st September and would like to ask if you know any members of the community that feel isolated and who may be interested in coming along, please get in touch with us. We provide a minibus service for those who have difficulties traveling to the club (only available to Mayfield & Easthouses residence). We are also looking for volunteers to help serve tea/coffee, lunch and have a little chat with the service users. We at MAEDT are pleased to announce that the Family Fun Day will be on Saturday 11th August starting at 11am. Begining with the awards ceremony for the Mayfield & Easthouses Gardening Competition and then activities including a magician, puppet show, face painting and races. We at hope to see you there.
